Suckley Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children — ‘Looked after’ and previously ‘Looked After’ children
2. 2Siblings within catchment — Siblings of pupils attending the school living within the catchment area of the school. In order to qualify for a place on the grounds of a sibling attending the school, the sibling must already be attending the school at the time of application and still be attending at the time of admission.
3. 3Children of school staff — Children whose parents are employed by Suckley School at the time of admission regardless of the role.
4. 4Children living within catchment area — Pupils living within the catchment area of the school.
5. 5Siblings outside catchment — Siblings of pupils attending the school living outside of the catchment area of the school
6. 6Distance from school — Distance – as measured for pupils who live nearest to the school by direct line. The measurement will be taken from the geocode point of the child’s home address to the geocode point of the school. The Local Authority use a software package called Arcview GIS to determine distance. Ordnance Survey supply the co-ordinates that are used to plot an address within this system. The Governing Body will utilise the same process.

If two applications tie: In the event of equi-distance applicants, any place will be allocated by random selection (lottery). Someone totally independent of the Governing Body will supervise this process.

Children with an Education, Health Care Plan that names the school in the plan, must be admitted, and this takes place before allocation of places, reducing available places. In the event of a multiple birth where not all children from that multiple birth can be allocated a place, the school, where possible will offer all children a place in this exception. CATCHMENT: Suckley School’s designated catchment area is outlined as those children living in the civil parishes of Suckley, Alfrick and Lulsley. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Worcestershire County Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
