The Manor CofE VC Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 0EHCP/Statement — A child who has a statement of special educational need or an Education Health and Care Plan is required to be admitted to the school named on the child's statement.
2. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — A "looked after child" or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, child arrangements, or special guardianship order including those who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted. A looked after child is a child who is (a) in the care of a local authority, or (b) being provided with accommodation by a local authority in the exercise of their social services function (see the definition in Section 22(1) of the Children Act 1989)
3. 2Sibling — Any child who has a sibling attending the same WHF School at the same time as he or she is due to be admitted. (Wording varies slightly by LA group; see sections 7, 9, 10 for school-specific detail.)
4. 3Child of staff — Where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made; and/or b) the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post at the school for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. This includes stepchildren, fosters children and children of co-habiting partners. (Please complete Appendix 3 – supplementary information form)
5. 4Catchment area — Any child living within the school's catchment area (details available from the school's and LA). [For Seend School only, Priority 4.1: Children living outside the Catchment Area who meet the faith criterion – a child living outside the Catchment Area is eligible for this category where the child is a regular practising Christian at a Recognised Church or Religious Group.]
6. 5All other children — Children other than those falling in category 1-4 above.

If two applications tie: Straight-line distance from home to school (measured using OS/LLPG data points, supplied by the relevant LA). In the event of identical distances, random allocation supervised by a person independent of the school is used.

This is a multi-school policy covering TWHF Primary Schools across four Local Authority areas (Oxfordshire, Reading, Swindon, Wiltshire). Individual school PANs are listed in section 6. The oversubscription criteria are broadly the same across LA groups but with minor variations (e.g. Reading schools have an additional 'exceptional medical or social needs' criterion at Priority 2, and a designated-area criterion rather than a standard catchment criterion; Forest and Sandridge has an additional Priority 2.1 for a transitional sibling/previous-catchment group). Criteria listed here represent the Oxfordshire/Swindon/Wiltshire general model. Nyland Campus (SEMH School, PAN 42) is determined through the SEN Assessment Team and this policy does not apply.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
