Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at St Lawrence CofE Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Shortest distance by straight line from the home to the school (from a central point in each building), using address point data supplied from the LA's geographical database. In the event that applicants cannot be prioritised using the tie-breaker above because the distance measurements are the same, the Governing Body will use random allocation to decide which children will be offered the remaining places. This will be done electronically using the Authority's admissions software.
A Supplementary Admission Form and, for categories 3, 4, 8 and 9, a Clergy Reference Form are required. Siblings defined as full, half or adoptive, foster brother or sister living in the same household; step-children not included. Parish residence refers to the Ecclesiastical Parish of Hurstpierpoint.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
