Nyewood CofE Junior School

When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Year 3), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Children with an Education Health and Care Plan
2. 2Children Looked After, Children Previously Looked After and Service Children. Previously looked after children are children who were looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order. Service children are children of service personnel with a confirmed posting to the local area or crown servants returning from overseas to live in the local area.
3. 3Children with known medical or social needs who would benefit from a place at the school.
4. 4Children who will have a sibling attending Nyewood CE Junior School at the time of admission.
5. 5Children who at the time of application are in Year 2 at Nyewood CE Infant School.
6. 6Children of parents who are regular worshippers at St Richard (Aldwick), St Wilfrid (Bognor), St Thomas A’Becket (Pagham), or Holy Cross (North Bersted) Churches.
7. 7Children by distance from the school with priority for admission given to children who live nearest to the school within a defined area as agreed with the Local Authority.

Published by West Sussex County Council in the Information for Parents Appendix 1 for entry in September 2026: the oversubscription criteria of every school that does not use the county's standard list for community and voluntary controlled schools. The council records that all applicants who requested this school for September 2025 were offered a place, so no cut-off distance exists for that year.
