Holy Trinity CofE Secondary School, Crawley

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — 'Looked after' or previously 'looked after' children.
2. 2Christian worship, fortnightly+ — Where parents can provide authoritative evidence that they have attended a place of Christian worship at least fortnightly, for a period of two years prior to application. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
3. 3Christian worship, monthly-fortnightly — Where parents can provide authoritative evidence that they have attended a place of Christian worship less than fortnightly, but at least monthly, for two years prior to application. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
4. 4Attends a linked CofE primary school — Children who attend a Church of England Primary School within the three deaneries of Horsham, East Grinstead and Cuckfield (see Appendix 2 list of named schools). Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
5. 5Compelling social, psychological or medical grounds — Children who need a place at the school on compelling social, psychological or medical grounds, supported by a letter from a qualified person (usually a doctor or social worker) stating clearly the exceptional reasons why the school is essential. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
6. 6Children of staff — Children of staff members employed at Holy Trinity for at least 2 years or recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
7. 7Other Trinitarian Christian worship, fortnightly+ — Where parents can provide authoritative evidence that they have attended a place offering other Trinitarian Christian worship at least fortnightly, for a period of two years prior to application. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
8. 8Other Trinitarian Christian worship, monthly-fortnightly — Where parents can provide authoritative evidence that they have attended a place offering other Trinitarian Christian worship less than fortnightly, but at least monthly, for two years prior to application. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
9. 9Other major world faith worship, fortnightly+ — Where parents can provide authoritative evidence that they have attended a place of worship of another major world faith at least fortnightly for two years prior to application. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
10. 10Other major world faith worship, monthly-fortnightly — Where parents can provide authoritative evidence that they have attended a place of worship of another major world faith less than fortnightly but at least monthly for two years prior to application. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.
11. 11Basketball — Where parents can provide authoritative evidence that their child has attended training and games with Storm Basketball Foundation or another recognised Basketball Club at least weekly, for a period of one year prior to application, and can provide a Basketball Registration Number. Split into: a) children who have played Basketball at National League level; b) children with siblings; c) children without siblings.
12. 12All other children — All other children who do not qualify for any higher criteria. Split into: a) children with siblings; b) children without siblings.

If two applications tie: Within each criterion, places are offered first to families living nearest to the school, measured by a straight line from a central point in each building (home to school), using address point data from the LA's geographical database. No random-allocation tie-breaker for exactly equal distances is stated in this document.

Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted ahead of other applicants (stated separately, not itself one of the 12 numbered criteria). The 12 criteria are unusually granular: all except criterion 1 (Looked After Children) are split into 'children with siblings' and 'children without siblings' sub-tiers, and criterion 11 (Basketball) has an additional top sub-tier for National League players. In the absence of evidence to support a higher category, applicants are considered under criterion 12. A Supplementary Information Form (plus PINK/BLUE/ORANGE reference as applicable) is required for criteria 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11; criterion 4 requires the SIF but no additional reference. The same PAN of 240 applies to Years 7-11 for in-year admissions.
