When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — Children who are looked after or are previously looked after.
2. 2Siblings — Children who have an older sibling in the same phase who attends the Academy at the date of admission.
3. 3Children of staff — Children of staff of the Academy who have been employed for two or more years at the time of application, or are recruited to fill a vacant post with a demonstrable skill shortage. The staff member must be a 'direct employee' (teaching or non-teaching, two years continuous or seasonal employment totalling two years); contracted-in service staff do not qualify.
4. 4Distance — reserved percentage — To fulfil the school's role as a community school, after places have been filled under the first three criteria, up to 60% of any remaining places will be offered to those children who live nearest to the school.
5. 5Other children — After places have been allocated under the first four criteria, remaining places are offered to other children. Where the number of applicants in this category exceeds the number of places, offers are determined by computerised random allocation by someone independent of the Trust.

If two applications tie: If the admission number is exceeded in criteria 1 to 4, priority is given to those living closest to the school, measured from the address point of the home to the address point of the school on a straight-line basis using a GIS. If the admission number is exceeded in criterion 5, or where two applications cannot otherwise be separated (e.g. equal distances), computerised random allocation is used, supervised by someone independent of the Trust.

Children with an EHCP naming the Academy are given a place (stated separately, not itself a numbered criterion). Where the last child admitted is from a multiple-birth group, the other children in that group are also offered places even above the PAN. Where siblings in the same year group would otherwise be split by only one remaining place, the other sibling is also offered a place unless this would breach infant class size limits. This oversubscription list is shared between Reception and Year 7 under the document's 'Primary and Secondary Phases' heading.
