Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Marie Weller Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where it is necessary to choose between two or more applicants within a criterion for a final place, the tiebreaker will be distance, with the child who resides the nearest to Marie Weller Primary School being given the place. Where two or more applications cannot otherwise be separated, for example where there are multiple applications from a dwelling with the same address point (e.g. flats) or where the distance from the home address to the school is identical for two or more applicants, computerised random allocation supervised by someone independent of the school, will be used to decide who is allocated a place.
Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted before oversubscription criteria are applied. Distance measured as straight-line using WNC's GIS for normal admissions round; from home address to main entrance for in-year applications.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
