When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked-after and previously looked-after children — A looked-after child is a child who is in the care of a local authority or who is being provided with accommodation by a local authority. A previously looked-after child is a child who was looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted, became subject to a child arrangements order, or a special guardianship order; this includes children who appear to the Admissions Authority to have been in state care outside England and ceased to be so as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Siblings — Children who have a sibling attending the Academy at the proposed date of admission. A sibling includes a full, half, step, foster or adopted brother or sister, or a child living permanently in the same household.
3. 3Disadvantaged children living within the catchment area — Children living within the Academy's catchment area (Priority Admission Area) eligible for one or more of the following: Pupil Premium; Early Years Pupil Premium; Service Premium. Parents should indicate eligibility on the application. Eligibility will be verified by the Local Authority.
4. 4Regular worshippers at St Helen's Church or Anglican parish church within the ecclesiastical parish of Hemsworth — Children of families who are regular worshippers at St Helen's Church or another Anglican parish church within the ecclesiastical parish of Hemsworth. A regular worshipper is defined as: A parent or child who has attended public worship at least once per month for the 12 months immediately preceding the closing date for applications. Attendance may be at a Sunday service or a weekday service that includes Christian worship. Evidence must be confirmed on the Supplementary Information Form (SIF) and verified by the priest, minister or churchwarden. Where attendance has been disrupted by circumstances beyond the family's control (such as illness, church closure or relocation), the Admissions Authority may consider alternative evidence of Christian commitment.
5. 5Regular worshippers at other qualifying Christian churches — Children of families who are regular worshippers at other qualifying Christian churches. A regular worshipper (as defined above) attending a Christian church that is: a member of Churches Together in England; a member of the Evangelical Alliance; a partner church of Affinity; or designated under the Church of England's Ecumenical Relations Measure (2018). Verification via the SIF is required.
6. 6Children living within the catchment area — Children living within the Academy's catchment area (Priority Admission Area). Children whose permanent home address is within the Priority Admission Area. Details of this area can be found on the school website.
7. 7Any other children — Applicants not meeting the above criteria.

If two applications tie: Where there are more applications than places available within one of the above criteria, applications will be allocated to those living closest to the school. Where two or more applicants live equidistant from the school, as measured by the Local Authority, the remaining places will be allocated by random allocation; this process will be independently supervised.

Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted outside the oversubscription criteria. Criterion 3 (disadvantaged children in catchment) requires Pupil Premium, Early Years Pupil Premium, or Service Premium eligibility. SIF must be returned to school by 15 January 2027 for faith criteria to be considered.
