When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In all categories, when decisions have to be made between children satisfying the same criterion, children living nearest to the school, measured as the crow flies, have priority. The distance measured will be from the central (centroid) point of the applicant's property to the central (centroid) point of the school's ground. Where two or more pupils live equidistant from the school, the distance each pupil lives by road from the preferred school will be measured and the place offered to the pupil who lives nearest by this means. In the event of this being equal, places will then be decided by random allocation. Where there is more than one application from a postal address contained within a block of flats, places will be decided by random allocation.
This is a trust-wide policy covering multiple academies: Outwood Grange Academy (360), Outwood Academy Hemsworth (240), Outwood Academy Freeston (210), Outwood Academy City Fields (210), Outwood Primary Academy Ledger Lane (60), Outwood Primary Academy Lofthouse Gate (60), Outwood Primary Academy Kirkhamgate (30), Outwood Primary Academy Bell Lane (45), Outwood Primary Academy Park Hill (60), Outwood Primary Academy Newstead Green (30), Outwood Primary Academy Greenhill (30).
