When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1Looked after and previously looked after children — A 'looked after child' or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, child arrangement, or special guardianship order including those who appear [to the admission authority] to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted. 2Children of staff — Priority will next be given to the children of staff in the following circumstances: i. where the member of staff has been employed at a school in the Osborne Trust for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made; and/or ii. the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant classroom-based post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage
3Siblings — Priority will next be given to children whose siblings* currently attend the school and will continue to do so on the date of admission.
4Distance — Other children by distance from the school. Distances are calculated by the Local Authority as described in the Primary Education in Thurrock booklet 2026-27.

The document does not explicitly state an EHCP/EHC plan first criterion, though this is implied by statute. Sibling definition includes full, step, half and long-term foster siblings living at the same address. Twins/multiples provision: if the last child offered a place is a twin, both twins will be offered a place; for triplets, if the majority can be offered places, the remaining child will also receive an offer.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
