Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
Last distance offered at Swindon Academy, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
This is a large, borough-wide "Primary & Junior School Admissions Guide" (Swindon Borough Council) containing individual profile entries for dozens of schools; only the Swindon Academy entry is extracted here. Swindon Academy has two sites (Beech Avenue, Pinehurst and Alton Close, Penhill); applicants must complete a Supplementary Information Form specifying which site is applied for, and the same criteria apply academy-wide (no separate ordered list per site). PAN of 60 is taken from Swindon Academy's own profile entry in the "Primary School Information" section (the figure printed immediately before its Oversubscription criteria); a separate, apparently retrospective "Statistics" table elsewhere in the same document shows a different figure (90) alongside "Swindon Academy" in a row of an unlabelled multi-column results table (on-time applications, appeals, etc.) that does not reliably align to a "PAN" column for every row - it is not used here. No school-specific tie-break-for-exact-ties wording is given for Swindon Academy; a general "Tiebreaker" clause elsewhere in the guide (random allocation when distance does not separate applicants) is stated to apply "For Community and Voluntary Controlled schools" only, and Swindon Academy is an academy with its own admission arrangements, so that general clause is not applied here. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first by law (general guide-wide statement, not printed as a numbered criterion in the Swindon Academy entry itself). Multiple-birth siblings are admitted above PAN where one sibling is offered the last available place.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
This school hasn't claimed its profile yet, so it can't receive enquiries here. Leave your details and we'll pass them on if the school joins School Atlas.
