When Nova Hreod Academy has more applications than places for 2027-28, they are offered in a published order of priority: 1. Looked after and previously looked after children — Looked after children and children who were previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to adoption, a child arrangements order, or special guardianship order, including children who appear (to the trust) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted. (Note A); 2. Sibling at the Academy — Children who have a sibling at the Academy (living at the same home address) at the time of admission. (Notes B and C); 3. All other children, by distance — All other children, prioritising those whose home address is nearest the Academy. Distance is measured by a straight line between the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) address point of the applicant's home address and a point at the centre of the school. The school offers 240 places at this entry point. Tie-break: Where two or more applicants are tied for the final place and the distance from home to school is identical, the place will be allocated using an independently supervised random allocation process. Random allocation will not be applied to multiple-birth siblings (twins, triplets etc.) from the same family tied for the final place: where the final place was offered to one of a multiple birth, a place will be offered above the published admission number to the sibling(s) from that multiple birth.

Pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan naming the school are admitted before the oversubscription criteria are applied; not numbered within the 1-3 list so not listed as a criterion. The policy explicitly states there are no faith criteria.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
