was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Reception). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Farncombe Church of England Infant School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If within any category there are more children than places available, priority will be given to those living closest to the school. Home to school distance will be measured by a straight line from the address point of the pupil's house, as set by Ordnance Survey to the nearest official school gate for pupils to use. This is calculated using a Geographical Information System. Where two or more children share a priority for a place when using distance as a tie breaker, e.g. where two children live equidistant from a school, lots will be drawn in the presence of an independent person from the Local Authority to determine which child should be given priority.
Children with an EHCP naming the school are allocated places before the oversubscription criteria are applied, reducing the number of places available. The school is an academy that delegates its admission process to Surrey County Council.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
