Earlswood Junior School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 3), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after and previously looked after children
2. 2Exceptional social or medical need — Exceptional social/medical need
3. 3Children of a member of staff
4. 4Children attending Earlswood Infant School — Children attending Earlswood Infant School. This criterion will only apply to children who attend Earlswood Infant School in Year 2 and will not be applied once a child has left this school
5. 5Siblings
6. 6Any other children

If two applications tie: Nearness to the school, measured in a straight line from the address point of the child’s home as set by Ordnance Survey to the nearest official school gate for pupils to use.

Surrey County Council is the admission authority for community and voluntary controlled schools and determines these arrangements. This school does not use the county’s standard list — Surrey sets school-specific criteria for it in section 8 of the arrangements. Both the exceptional social or medical need priority and the children-of-staff priority need their own supplementary form returned by the closing date, or they are not applied. At this school, attending Earlswood Infant School ranks ABOVE having a brother or sister already at the school — so a Year 2 place at the infant school counts for more than a sibling link. That infant-school priority only counts while the child is in Year 2 there; it stops applying once they have left. Determined by Surrey County Council, the admission authority for its community and voluntary controlled schools; determined December 2025 for entry in 2027/28. Ranking taken from section 8 (school-specific list) of the determined arrangements. Appendix 2: this school operates shared sibling priority with Earlswood Infant School.
