When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where there are places available for some, but not all applicants within a criterion priority will be given to children living closest to the school on the basis of distance from the centre of the home address to the main entrance of the school. Distance is measured by a straight-line measurement from the centre of the home to the main entrance of the school, using a geographical information system (GIS). In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out in a public place and supervised by a person independent of the school.
This policy applies to Sixth Form (Year 12) admissions only. Both internal and external pupils must meet minimum academic entry requirements. Within each criterion, sub-priorities apply: (i) exceptional social, medical or pastoral need, then (ii) sibling at the school. Internal pupils progress subject to meeting course requirements; oversubscription criteria apply only to external applicants.
