Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2025-26 (Year 7), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
Last distance offered at The Wilnecote School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Within each criterion priority is given in order of distance between the child's home and school. (shortest distance = highest priority). Distance will be calculated by straight line measurement from the address point location coordinate of the applicant's home address (as set by Ordnance survey) to the centre point ('centroid') of the school in question. If there are a limited number of spaces available and we cannot distinguish between applicants using the criteria listed, such as in the case of children who live in the same block of flats, then the child or children who will be offered the available spaces will be randomly selected. This process will be independently verified.
Document heading states 'Admission Arrangements for 2027-2028' but the body text references 'academic year 2026/27' and 'the 2026 entry' for the PAN. The cohort_start_year is taken as 2027 per the title. Children of staff qualify where: (a) the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time of application, and/or (b) the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skills shortage.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
