Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Year 7), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
Last distance offered at The de Ferrers Academy, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there are a limited number of spaces available, and applicants cannot be distinguished using the criteria listed, such as in the case of children who live in the same block of flats, then the child or children offered the available spaces will be randomly selected. This process will be independently verified.
A student who has an Education, Health and Care Plan that names The de Ferrers Academy will be admitted to the Academy (statutory duty, applied before oversubscription criteria); this will reduce places available. Where a category cannot be fully accommodated, remaining criteria are applied to allocate within it (e.g. catchment children failing f) go to g)). CATCHMENT: Students residing within the catchment area (broadly Outwoods, Horninglow, Eton Park, Stretton, Rolleston, Tutbury). A copy of the catchment area can be obtained from the Academy or the School Admissions and Transport Service. The Academy does not operate a catchment area guarantee. Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Staffordshire County Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
