When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Children in care / previously in care — Children in Care and children who ceased to be in care because they were adopted (or became subject to a residence order or special guardianship order). This applies to children in these categories in England and also to children in these categories previously from outside of England.
2. 2Siblings at the school — Children who have an elder brother or sister in attendance at the preferred SUAT Academy and who will still be attending the SUAT Academy at the time of the proposed admission date. (For admission purposes, a brother or sister is a child who lives at the same address and either: have one or both natural parents in common; are related by a parent's marriage; are adopted or fostered by a common parent or are unrelated children who live at the same address, whose parents live as partners).
3. 3Catchment or cluster area — Children living within the defined catchment or cluster area of the preferred setting. Cluster areas for nursery age settings will sometimes, but not always, correspond to the catchment area for the main Academy.
4. 4Nursery attendance with Early Years Pupil Premium — Children who attended the school-based nursery and who are in receipt of Early Years Pupil Premium Funding.
5. 5Children of employees — Children of employees in an academy (where the employee has been employed at the academy for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission is made to the academy or where the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post at the academy for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage).
6. 6Distance from home to school — Other children arranged in order of priority according to how near their home addresses are to the main gate of the referred academy, determined by a straight-line measurement as calculated by Google maps or the Local Authority's Geographical Information System (please see additional notes for further details).

If two applications tie: Random allocation (independently verified) where applicants cannot be distinguished, e.g. children living in the same block of flats.
