Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Baptised Catholic children who are looked after or previously looked after — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who are looked after or previously looked after (see Note 3 below)
2. 2Baptised Catholic children in parish with sibling at school — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of English Martyrs’ Catholic Church who have a brother or sister (see Note 3 below) attending Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy at the time of admission.
3. 3Baptised Catholic children living in the parish — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of English Martyrs’ Catholic Church.
4. 4Other Baptised Catholic children with sibling at school — Other Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending Our Lady of Grace Catholic Academy at the time of admission.
5. 5Other Baptised Catholic children with sibling at former Newman Collegiate school — Other Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending a school that was previously part of the Newman Catholic Collegiate (see Note 5 below)
6. 6Other Baptised Catholic children — Other Baptised Catholic children (see note 2 below).
7. 7Non-Catholic children who are looked after or previously looked after — Non-Catholic children who are looked after or previously looked after (see Note 3 below)
8. 8Non-Catholic children with sibling at St Mary's Catholic Academy — Non-Catholic children who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending St Mary’s Catholic Academy at the time of admission.
9. 9Non-Catholic children with sibling at former Newman Collegiate school — Non-Catholic children who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending a school that was previously part of the Newman Catholic Collegiate (see Note 5 below)
10. 10Non-Catholic children — Non-Catholic children.

If two applications tie: If there is oversubscription within a category, the Local Governing Body will give priority to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance (see Note 5). Distances measured using GIS straight line distance from home to main front gate of school; if still tied, random allocation by computerised system.

EHCP: Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan that names the school must be admitted before allocation under these arrangements (Note 1). Twins/multiple births admitted where logistically possible if last ranked child is part of multiple birth. Deferred entry rules apply up to first day of summer term 2028. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
