Endon High School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Children in Care and previously in Care — Children in Care and children who ceased to be in care because they were adopted (or became subject to a residence order or special guardianship order), including PLAC children who appear to have been in state care outside England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Exceptional medical grounds or circumstances causing hardship — Children who satisfy both: Test 1 - the child is distinguished from the great majority of applicants either on their own medical grounds (supported by a medical report) or by other exceptional circumstances relating to the individual child (supported by a professional report, e.g. from a social worker), clearly justifying why it is better for the child to attend Endon High School rather than any other school; and Test 2 - the child would suffer hardship (severe suffering, not merely difficulty or inconvenience) if unable to attend Endon High School.
3. 3Elder sibling in attendance — Children who have an elder sibling in attendance at Endon High School and who will still be attending the school at the proposed admission date.
4. 4Children living within the catchment area — Children living within the catchment area of Endon High School.
5. 5Children from major contributory primary schools — Children who attend the following primary schools which are defined as major contributory primary schools: Endon Hall Primary, St. Anne's CE(VC) Primary, St. Luke's Academy and Greenways Primary Academy.
6. 6Children of staff — Children of staff who are employed at Endon High School, employed for two years or more at the time of application and/or recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage. Does not include contractors or peripatetic teachers.
7. 7Nearest by distance — Other children arranged in order of priority according to how near their home addresses are to the main gate of the school, determined by a straight-line measurement calculated by the Local Authority's Geographical Information System.

If two applications tie: If there are a limited number of spaces available and applicants cannot be distinguished using the criteria listed, such as children who live in the same block of flats, the child or children offered the available spaces will be randomly selected. This process will be independently verified.

The document does not print the words 'Year 7' anywhere; entry_point is inferred because this is clearly a secondary school (named 'major contributory primary schools' feed into it, catchment scheme, staff/GCSE-era context). Distance (straight-line, LA GIS, OS/LLPG data, to the school's main front gate) is also used to sub-rank within any oversubscribed category, not only category 7 (e.g. if catchment-area children in category 4 cannot all be accommodated, they are ranked by distance). Children with an EHC Plan naming the school must be admitted, reducing places for other applicants (not itself a numbered criterion).
