was the furthest place offered for 2024-25 (Reception). The council's figures don't show whether anyone was refused, so it may not have been a cut-off.
Last distance offered at West Buckland Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If in categories 2 – 5 above a tie-break is necessary to determine which child is admitted, the child living closest to the school will be given priority for admission. Distance is measured in a straight line by a Geographical information System (GIS) method from the geocoded point of the school site to the geocoded point of the pupil's home. Random allocation undertaken by the local authority will be used as a tie-break in categories 2-5 above to decide who has highest priority for admission if the distance between a child's home and the academy is equidistant in any two or more cases. Random allocation will not be applied to multiple birth siblings (twins and triplets etc.) from the same family tied for the final place.
PAN of 15 applies to both Reception and Years 1–6. Sibling criterion excludes siblings of Year 6 pupils. The school will exceed PAN for multiple birth siblings tied for the final place.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
