When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If applying these criteria results in more children within any category than places available, the tie break is distance from the school, measured in a straight line using the Local Authority's computerised mapping system (address point of home to main school reception), with those closer given higher priority. Where the last place is shared equally by more than one applicant, the place is allocated by lot supervised by an independent person; multiple birth siblings are all admitted even if this exceeds the PAN.
Pupils with an EHCP naming the school (with written evidence) are admitted automatically before the numbered oversubscription criteria are applied, subject to the school and Local Authority agreeing suitability for a selective context; the school need not fill all places if too few reach the required standard. In-year admissions to Years 7-11 use a related but shorter criteria list (LAC; Pupil Premium; staff children; Desborough College or Trevelyan Middle School as feeder schools; then distance) — not reproduced here as it is not the normal point of entry.
