When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there is one place available and two or more children next in order of priority or next on the waiting list meet the appropriate criterion equally, the place will be allocated using the distance criterion. Distance will be measured in a straight line using the co-ordinates derived from the National London Property Gazetteer from the centre of the child’s home address to the school’s main gate. If the distances are equal, a place will be allocated by drawing lots in the presence of an independent witness.
Local-authority coordinated default oversubscription criteria for Slough Borough Council's community and voluntary-controlled schools (the council is the admission authority). Some community/voluntary-controlled schools in this authority apply catchment-area, feeder-school or priority-area variants — check the individual school for its exact arrangements. The default criteria apply to community primary schools. St Mary's C of E Primary (the sole voluntary controlled school) has its own separate ordered criteria (Looked after child, Sibling, Catchment area, Denomination, Medical/Social, All other applicants) set out in Section 8a. EHCP/statemented children are admitted first, before the ranked criteria, per the council's stated policy.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
