Woore Primary and Nursery School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1In-catchment siblings — Priority will be given to children living within the catchment area who will have a sibling on roll at the school on the day they are due to start school.
2. 2Other in-catchment children — After that, priority will be given to other children who live within the catchment area.
3. 3Children of staff (2+ years employed) — Where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made; and/or.
4. 4Children of staff (skill shortage post) — the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post at the school for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
5. 5Out-of-catchment siblings — Children who will have a sibling at the school on the day they are due to start school.
6. 6All other children — All other children.

If two applications tie: In the event that two applications are exactly the same after all other criteria have been taken into account a tie breaker will be used. This will be by random allocation and overseen by an independent party not connected with the admissions process.

A medical criterion is mentioned in truncated text before criterion 3 ('school (and no other) is essential to the medical well-being of the child...') but its rank label is not visible in the supplied text, so it is omitted. Categories 3 and 5 are each rank ordered by straight-line distance from home to school where oversubscribed. Waiting lists, in-year admissions, and deferred entry rules for summer-born children are described but not part of the ranked criteria. CATCHMENT: Children living inside the designated catchment area will have priority of admission. If there are not enough places for all the children in the catchment area, then the following criteria for admission will apply in order: Transcribed from the school's own determined admission arrangements as published by Shropshire Council. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
