When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Baptised Catholic looked after/previously looked after children — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who are looked after or previously looked after (see Note 3 below).
2. 2Baptised Catholic in parish with sibling at school — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of Holy Name who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending Holy Name Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
3. 3Baptised Catholic children living in the parish of Holy Name — Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) living in the parish of Holy Name.
4. 4Other baptised Catholic children with sibling at school — Other Baptised Catholic children (see Note 2 below) who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending Holy Name Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
5. 5Other baptised Catholic children — Other Baptised Catholic children (see note 2 below).
6. 6Non-Catholic looked after/previously looked after children — Non-Catholic children who are looked after or previously looked after (See Note 3 below).
7. 7Non-Catholic children with sibling at school — Non-Catholic children who have a brother or sister (see Note 4 below) attending Holy Name Catholic Primary School at the time of admission.
8. 8Non-Catholic children — Non-Catholic children.

If two applications tie: If, during the allocation process, two or more applicants tie for the final place and there is no other way of separating the application according to the admissions criteria and to admit both, or all, of the children would cause the Published Admission Number for the child's year group to be exceeded, the final place shall be decided by a random number generator, independently overseen by Sandwell Local Authority

Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan that names the school must be admitted (Note 1) - this is a statutory duty applied before oversubscription criteria. Within categories, priority given to children living closest to the school determined by shortest distance (Note 5). Deferred entry permitted until not beyond the first day of the summer term 2028. Children with an EHCP naming the school are admitted first; that is a statutory duty, not an oversubscription criterion.
