When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
Read 2026-09-12 from Steel River Academy Trust's determined Admissions Policy 2027-2028, which the trust states is adopted by Bankfields, Caedmon, Grangetown and Whale Hill primary schools and which reproduces Redcar and Cleveland's ranked order for local-authority maintained primary schools. The same document states each school's published admission limit. A child whose education, health and care plan names the school is admitted first; that is not an oversubscription criterion. The rules are printed as a two-column CRITERIA / EXPLANATORY NOTES table and each rule below carries its own explanatory note. CORRECTION 2026-09-12: the rules below were re-read from the same determined document with a cell-by-cell table reader; the first reading split the two-column table by word position and lost or ran together part of the text.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
