was the furthest place offered for 2024-25 (Reception). The council's figures don't show whether anyone was refused, so it may not have been a cut-off.
Last distance offered at St Mary's CofE Primary School High Crompton, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Proximity to the school measured by a straight line, calculated electronically using a geographical information system. In the event that two or more children live at the same distance from the school, random allocation (supervised drawing of lots by an independent responsible person of good standing) will be used to decide which child(ren) will be allocated the remaining place(s).
Criterion 5 reserves the next 6 places specifically for children based on geographical proximity before criterion 6 (faith – other Christian/any religion) is applied. A Supplementary Information Form is required for criteria 2, 4, and 6; children whose parents do not complete and return it will not be considered under those criteria. The waiting list operates until the end of the first term after the beginning of the school year.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
