was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Brayton Academy, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there are not enough places in one of the priorities groups, the remaining places will be allocated based on who resides nearest to the Academy in a straight-line distance from the home address to the Academy. If two or more children live the same distance from our Academy and there are not enough places for both, we will draw lots (witnessed by an independent person), except for twins or other multiple birth siblings, who will all be admitted even if this exceeds the PAN.
Within priority group 5, places will be offered to children from the individual rural area before those in the town area of Selby. If catchment-area applicants exceed remaining places, allocation is based on straight-line distance; if PAN not reached, criterion 7 (non-catchment) is applied based on straight-line distance.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
