Distance did not decide places here
Every applicant who applied on time was offered a place for 2026-27 (Reception), so there was no cut-off distance. This changes from year to year; check the current year's figures before relying on it.
How places were offered at Higham Ferrers Nursery and Infant School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If the admission number is exceeded within any criterion, priority will be given to those who live
Attendance at Higham Ferrers Nursery does not guarantee admission to the main school. A separate application to the Local Authority must be made to transfer from any Early Years setting to Higham Ferrers Infant School. Places will be allocated to pupils who have an Education Health Care (EHC) Plan that names the school as appropriate provision. Definition of Siblings The definition of a brother or sister, sometimes referred to as a sibling: • a brother or sister sharing the same parents; • a half-brother or half-sister where 2 children share one common parent; • a step-brother or step sister, where two children are related by a parent’s marriage; • adopted children; • foster children. A brother or sister must be living at the same address when the application is made.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
