When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1EHCP or Statement of SEN naming the school — Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan or Statement of special educational needs naming the school.
2. 2Children in public care / adopted — Children in public care, who have been adopted from public care or adopted from abroad, who are due to transfer.
3. 3Living in catchment area — Children who are due to transfer and live in the catchment area.
4. 4Outside catchment with older sibling — Children who are due to transfer and live outside the catchment area, who have an older brother or sister attending the school at the time of admission (but not the sixth form).
5. 5Outside catchment, attends a feeder school — Children who are due to transfer who live outside the catchment area and attend a feeder school at the opening date of the admission round, i.e. 11 September 2026.
6. 6Children of staff — Children of staff at the school: a) where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time of application, and/or b) the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage - for children who are due to transfer and live outside the catchment area.
7. 7Outside catchment (all other) — Children who are due to transfer and live outside the catchment area.

If two applications tie: If all children within any rule cannot be offered a place, the highest priority is given to those living nearest the school within that rule, distance measured on a straight-line 'crow fly' basis using Ordnance Survey data. If two applicants still cannot be separated for a final place, the authority uses random allocation.

No specific feeder-school names are printed in this document (only that applicants attending 'a feeder school' as of 11 September 2026 receive out-of-catchment priority); the traditional catchment area is described as covering Taverham, Drayton, Thorpe Marriott and Ringland. Rule 5 (feeder school) does not apply to in-year applications, since those pupils would not currently be attending a feeder school. Unusually, this document places the EHCP/Statement of SEN priority as the first item within the same bulleted, explicitly 7-item oversubscription list, rather than as a separate un-numbered statutory statement as in many comparable policies; it is reported here as rank 1 accordingly. The staff-child criterion (rank 6) ends with a dangling, unclear phrase in the source text ('...for children who are due to transfer and live outside the catchment area;') whose intended meaning or placement is not clear; it is quoted as printed rather than corrected.
