When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Proximity to school/academy is used as a tie-breaker, those living closest being given priority. On the rare occasion where the offer of places to applicants with equal-distant addresses would lead to oversubscription, the decision of who will be offered the place will be made by a random selection drawn by a senior officer outside of the education service.
