When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: As a tie break the Trustees will calculate the mean rank position and, if there is still a tie, they will take the highest individual score on the written test. If a tie still exists, the Trustees will take the least number of mistakes on the written paper and, if necessary, an independent ballot would be taken if there is still a tie. There are entrance exams for admission into a grammar school. Details about the testing arrangements can be obtained from the school.
