When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — Children who are looked after and those children who were previously looked after children.
2. 2Catchment area — Pupils who live in the catchment area at point of application.
3. 3Sibling at requested school — Sibling, where there is sibling attending the requested school and will still be attending the requested school at point of entry.
4. 4Medical/social/domestic need — Pupils who have a serious medical condition or exceptional social or domestic needs that make it essential they attend the school requested. (Professional documentation confirming the situation must be submitted with the application.)
5. 5Feeder school — Pupils who are attending a feeder school at the point of application.
6. 6Sibling at linked junior school — Pupils with a sibling attending the Linked Junior School.
7. 7Nearest distance — Pupils living nearest to the school measured in a straight-line distance (home to school front gate).

If two applications tie: If having applied the highest criterion plus distance and two or more applications have identical ranking, lots will be drawn, undertaken by a senior officer in the Children and Families Department, supervised by an officer of the Council from another department independent of the School Admissions Service.
