was the furthest place offered on offer day for 2026-27 (Year 7). That is how far the last place reached in ONE year — not a boundary, and not a guarantee. It moves with the number of applicants, so treat it as a guide rather than a line on a map.
Last distance offered at Kirkby High School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2025-26 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there are more applicants than places available within criterion 1, 2 or 3, criterion 4 will be used as a 'tie-break'. In rare cases where the geographic tie-break does not assist because more than one applicant lives at the same distance e.g., in a block of flats or the same distance in a different radial direction from school, random selection will be used to determine the allocation of places.
Criterion 3 (partnership primary schools) does not apply to in-year transfer applications. Sibling criterion requires siblings to be resident at the same address on a full-time basis. The home to school measurement is a radial straight-line measurement using a GIS based on LLPG data.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
