School Atlas lists 144 state primary schools, 26 state secondary schools, 1 all-through school, 6 special schools, 3 alternative provision schools and 3 post-16 schools and colleges in Kirklees. It also lists 18 independent schools and 182 nurseries and other early-years settings.
Of the state primary, secondary and all-through schools, 54 have a religious character: 44 Church of England and 10 Roman Catholic.
Of the 171 state primary, secondary and all-through schools in Kirklees, 94 hold an Ofsted overall-effectiveness grade from their last graded inspection: 7 Outstanding, 82 Good and 5 Requires improvement.
