When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: If there are more applications than places under any single criterion, the governors will prioritise these applications according to distance from the applicant's home address to the school as described in criterion 6 above. Where there are two or more applicants who live equidistant from the school and a tie-breaker is required, admission will be by the drawing of lots.
The brochure states "This is a summary of the oversubscription criteria. It is your responsibility to read the full policy on the school's website for further information about each criteria and your responsibilities as the applicant before making your application." Kingston composite brochure, "Admission arrangements for 2026" (September 2026 entry), "Academies, foundation, free and voluntary aided schools" section. CONTRADICTION: this entry, inside a brochure headed 'Admission arrangements for 2026', says 'There are 30 places for entry into Reception in September 2022. If the school is oversubscribed in the annual admissions round (more than 30 applications), Reception places will be offered using the following criteria, in priority order, down to space 27. These remaining three spaces, will be offered simply in accordance with criterion 6.' The stated place count and its cohort year are September 2022, not the 2026 cohort, so no admission number is recorded here. The distance-only allocation of the final three places applies only to the Reception class and only during the normal annual admissions round; once term begins the school manages in-year vacancies for all year groups strictly according to criteria 1 to 6 in priority order.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
