was the furthest place offered for 2026-27 (Reception). The council's figures don't show whether anyone was refused, so it may not have been a cut-off.
Last distance offered at Smeeth Community Primary School, year by year →
When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the case of 2 or more applications that cannot be separated by the oversubscription criteria outlined above, the school will use the distance between the school and a child's home as a tie breaker to decide between applicants. Priority will be given to children who live closest to the school. Where the distance between 2 children's homes and the school is the same, random allocation will be used to decide between them. This process will be independently verified.
Document states 'Before the application of oversubscription criteria, children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) which names the school will be admitted. As a result of this, the published admissions number will be reduced accordingly.' The document also contains a statement 'In 2027, the PAN for Year R to Year 6 will be 20' and references appeal timelines for 2027, which appear alongside the stated validity period of 2025/2026 admissions, creating some ambiguity about the exact cohort year.
