School Atlas lists 459 state primary schools, 100 state secondary schools, 4 all-through schools, 25 special schools, 6 alternative provision schools and 3 post-16 schools and colleges in Kent. It also lists 112 independent schools and 642 nurseries and other early-years settings.
Of the state primary, secondary and all-through schools, 201 have a religious character: 164 Church of England, 32 Roman Catholic, 2 Christian, 2 Methodist and 1 Church of England/Methodist.
Of the 563 state primary, secondary and all-through schools in Kent, 333 hold an Ofsted overall-effectiveness grade from their last graded inspection: 39 Outstanding, 289 Good and 5 Requires improvement.
