Cherry Lane Primary School

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after / previously looked after children — A looked after child (as defined in the Children Act 1989) or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, child arrangements, or special guardianship order including those who appear [to the admission authority] to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Year 2 pupils at linked infant school (junior applications only) — Children attending year 2 at the linked infant school are given priority for admission to the junior school (this applies to junior school applications only).
3. 3Child's own long-term medical/social condition — Children who suffer from a long term medical or social condition, which makes it necessary for them to attend a particular school.
4. 4Immediate family member's long-term medical/social condition — Children who have a member of the immediate family who suffer from a long term medical or social condition which makes it necessary for them to attend a particular school.
5. 5Sibling within distance priority radius — Children who have a sibling* living within the distance priority radius.
6. 6Children of staff (skill shortage post) — Children of staff where the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
7. 7Nearest within distance priority radius — Children living nearest the school within the distance priority radius.
8. 8Sibling outside distance priority radius — Children who have a sibling* living outside of the distance priority radius.
9. 9Nearest not within distance priority radius — Children living nearest the school not within the distance priority radius.

If two applications tie: Where two or more children share a priority for a place, e.g. where two children live equidistant from a community school and only one place remains, Hillingdon Council will use a computerised random allocation to determine which child should be given priority.

Local-authority coordinated default oversubscription criteria for Hillingdon's community and voluntary-controlled schools (the council is the admission authority). Some community/voluntary-controlled schools in this authority apply catchment-area, feeder-school or priority-area variants — check the individual school for its exact arrangements. Applies to Hillingdon community infant, junior, and primary schools, except Frithwood Primary School, Harmondsworth Primary School, and Heathrow Primary School, which have separate arrangements not detailed here.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
