Belmore Primary Academy

When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1A looked after child (as defined in the Children Act 1989) or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, child arrangements, or special guardianship order including those who appear [to the admission authority] to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
2. 2Children who suffer from a long-term medical or social condition, which makes it necessary for them to attend Belmore Primary Academy. Applications must be accompanied by medical evidence from a GP or hospital consultant.
3. 3Children who have a member of the immediate family who suffer from a long-term medical or social condition that makes it necessary for them to attend Belmore Primary Academy. Applications must be accompanied by medical evidence from a GP or hospital consultant.
4. 4Children who have a sibling living in the same household who currently attends the full-time school (not the nursery) and will continue to do so on the date of admission. A sibling refers to a brother or sister, half brother or sister with one parent in common, adopted brother or sister.
5. 5Children living nearest the school. Distance will be measured in a straight line from the point set by Ordnance Survey at the child’s home address and Belmore Primary Academy using a computerised mapping system.
6. 6Children of staff at the school, in either or both of the following circumstances:a) The member of staff has been employed at the school for 2 or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made, or b) The member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
