When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on the basis of a straight-line measurement between the front door of the child's home address (including the community entrance to flats) and the main entrance of the school using the local authority's computerised measuring system. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each of the 7 categories, sub-provisions applied in order: (i) exceptional social, medical or pastoral need moves application to top of category; (ii) sibling attendance at the school moves application to top of category after (i); (iii) children of staff employed 2+ years (or recruited for demonstrable skill shortage) placed at top of category after (i) and (ii). Twins/siblings from multiple births admitted together where logistically possible if one sibling is last ranked within PAN.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
