When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Year 7), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1A1: Baptised Catholic children in Public Care — Baptised Catholic students who are or have been in Public Care (Explanatory Note 7.1). Tie break: Distance.
2. 2B1: Catholic students with siblings at the school — Catholic students with siblings at the school at the proposed time of admission. Tie break: Distance.
3. 3B2: All other Catholic students — All other Catholic students. Tie break: Distance.
4. 4C1: Other children in Public Care (not Catholic) — Students who are or have been in Public Care and are not Catholic (Explanatory Note 7.1). Tie break: Distance.
5. 5D1: Heritage Catholics with siblings at the school — Unbaptised students with siblings at the school at the proposed time of admission with at least one parent who is a Baptised Catholic or who has been received into the Catholic church. Tie break: Distance.
6. 6D2: All other Heritage Catholics — All other unbaptised students with at least one parent who is a Baptised Catholic or who has been received into the Catholic church. Tie break: Distance.
7. 7E1: Eastern Christian Church members with siblings at the school — Students with siblings who are members of the Eastern Christian Church at the proposed time of admission (Explanatory Note 7.13). Tie break: Distance.

If two applications tie: Distance is measured in a straight line using Hampshire County Council's GIS (normally from the Ordnance Survey home address point to the school); for multiple dwellings, ground floor is prioritised over upper floors, with distance on a floor measured to the stairs leading to the communal entrance. If applicants are tied on distance, the place is allocated by random allocation (lottery), witnessed by an independent observer, normally a representative of the Local Authority (7.10, 7.11).
