When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance. Distances are calculated on basis of a straight line measurement between the front door of the child’s home address (including the community entrance to flats) and the main entrance of the school using the local authority’s computerised measuring system on the following basis the Ordnance Survey system and the Geographical Information system. In the event of distances being the same for two or more children where this would determine the last place to be allocated, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by an independent body.
Within each numbered category, three sub-priority provisions apply in order: (i) children of staff with two years' service; (ii) children with documented exceptional social, medical or pastoral need; (iii) children with a sibling attending the school at time of admission. A Supplementary Information Form (SIF) is required for criteria 1-5, 7 or 9, and a Certificate of Catholic Practice is required for criteria 2-4.
