When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
Oversubscription criteria for Gloucestershire community and voluntary controlled infant and primary schools, transcribed verbatim from the council’s determined arrangements for September 2027 entry. Where a category is oversubscribed, the strongest geographical claim (straight-line distance) decides which child is offered a place. In the event of a tie on that distance, the Local Authority follows a manual process of random allocation overseen by an independent person from the Legal Services Team; twins and children of multiple births in a random allocation are treated as one applicant. Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan are placed through the SEN Code of Practice, not through these criteria.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
