When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

In the event of a tie on distance where there are not enough places for all the tied children, the Local Authority runs a random allocation — a manual process overseen by an independent person from the Legal Services Team. Twins and children from multiple births are considered as one applicant in that process.
