Jordanhill School

When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (P1), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Permanent residence at a List 1 designated address — Children whose permanent residence is a designated address (List 1). Permanent residence means the child and parent(s)/carer(s) reside at the address and own it, rent from a recognised Housing Association, a letting agency or a registered landlord, from the official date of receipt until the offer, at the expected start date, and for at least six months after. Only one family may rely on the same List 1 address.
2. 2Permanent residence at a List 2 supplementary address — Children whose permanent residence is a supplementary address (List 2).
3. 3Any other address (List 3) — Children who live elsewhere. Any street or house number not shown in List 1 or List 2 is automatically in List 3. At present only applicants from designated addresses ever gain admission to the Primary department; in most years only applicants from designated addresses gain admission to Secondary 1.
4. 4Within each list: qualifying sibling — Within each list we give priority to children who have a qualifying sibling — a pupil enrolled no later than the end of S1 who will still be a pupil at the date the sibling is enrolled (so a pupil in S6 is not a qualifying sibling for a child seeking P1).
5. 5Within each list: official date of receipt of application — We then determine priority according to the official date of receipt of the application. For the annual P1/S1 offer, each child's place is fixed by the Regulations as of 30 September in the preceding year.
6. 6Twins and multiple births — Where we can offer only one twin a place, we will offer the next available place to the remaining twin; the same applies to triplets etc.

P1 admits 66 places; S1 admits a further 33 places on top of the P7 cohort proceeding. Children whose fourth birthday falls after 28/29 February are not admitted to P1 that August. Deferred entry moves the official date of receipt back one calendar year. On admission the parent must become a member of the Jordanhill School company. No fees; no selection on any grounds other than residency.

Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
