When there are more applications than places for 2027-28 (Reception), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.

1. 1Looked after children or previously looked after children — Looked after children or previously looked after children.
2. 2Nearest suitable school — Pupils for whom the preferred school is the nearest suitable school to the pupil's home address.
3. 3Sibling attending — Pupils who will have a sister or brother attending the preferred school on the expected admission date. The sibling criterion will only be applied for the statutory period of education, i.e. up to Year 11.
4. 4Other pupils by proximity — Other pupils to whom criteria (a)–(c) do not apply. Places will be allocated in order of proximity, up to the school's Admission Number.

If two applications tie: If there are more applications than places in any of the above categories, a 'tie-breaker' will be applied and the places will be allocated in distance order giving priority to those living nearest the school, measured on a Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping system.

Local-authority coordinated default oversubscription criteria for Flintshire County Council's community and voluntary-controlled schools (the council is the admission authority). Any child for whom the school is named in part 2D of the Local Authority Individual Development Plan (LA IDP) will be admitted before the application of the oversubscription criteria. Flintshire LA does not operate catchment or feeder school arrangements. Voluntary aided, faith, and foundation schools apply their own separate oversubscription criteria, not covered by this default list.
