When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (P1), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: Where at any stage the application of the placing request priorities A-D results in unresolved competition for places, those competing requests shall be determined by the application of the following criteria in the order shown: (i) In the case of denominational schools, children whose parents can demonstrate affiliation to the denomination in whose interests the school is managed by means of a baptismal certificate. (ii) Multiple sets of siblings of the same age: twins, triplets, etc. (iii) The number of siblings a child has at the specified school - the more siblings attending the specified school, the higher the priority. (iv) The ages of the siblings a child has at the school - the nearer their youngest sibling is to their year group, the higher the priority. (v) Child attending the nursery class at the specified primary school or attending a feeder primary school for the specified secondary school. (vi) Date and time of receipt of placing requests at Children's Services, Suite 1a, Falkirk Community Stadium, 4 Stadium Way, Falkirk, FK2 9EE. (vii) Where all the above criteria have been applied and there is still unresolved competition amongst placing requests, a ballot will take place. Three persons from Falkirk Council including a representative independent of Children's Services oversee any ballot.
Each address has a non-denominational and a denominational catchment school for primary and secondary; a denominational catchment place needs a baptismal certificate, otherwise a placing request. Refused requests from the normal December-15 March round go on a Standing List held to the end of the academic year applied for. Successful placing requests carry no transport. There are no Gaelic-medium schools in Falkirk; pupils attend GME in other council areas with transport. There is no denominational primary within 5 miles of Airth, Letham, Dunmore, South Alloa, Slamannan, Limerigg, Avonbridge, Standburn and Whitecross, and baptised children at those catchment primaries may transfer to the denominational secondary without a placing request.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
