When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Year 3), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event of over-subscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be given to children living closest to the school determined by the shortest distance (straight-line distance as supplied by the Local Authority). If distances are equal, random allocation will be carried out and supervised by a person independent of the school.
Within each of the above numbered categories, sibling priority applies first: 'Those who have a brother or sister at St. Helen’s Catholic Infant or Junior School Academy at the time of admission' are prioritised within that category before the tie-break by distance is applied.
Published by the admission authority. Meeting a criterion never guarantees a place — it sets the order places are offered in. Full detail, other entry points and previous years are on the Admissions tab.
Same phase, ranked by distance and how closely they match.
