When there are more applications than places for 2026-27 (Year 3), places are offered in this order of priority. Meeting a higher criterion beats meeting a lower one.
If two applications tie: In the event of a tie breaker, proximity will be used to determine a school place. Children who live nearest the requested school, measured in a straight line from the centre point of the child’s ordinary place of residence to the entrance nearest the reception point of the school building will be offered a place. If two or more pupils live equidistant from the school, the distance each pupil lives by road from the preferred school will be measured and the place offered to the pupil who lives nearest by this means. In the event of this being equal (e.g. in the case of flats), places will be decided by random allocation.
